I realized recently that one city I rarely blog about is Chicago, my favorite city and my home! I am going to change this and had my first opportunity to explore the city as a tourist when my cousin Brittany came to visit a couple of weeks ago. We had to much fun and I had a great time exploring new places. Read all about those places in this post!
Read about our girls' weekend in Chicago in this post, including brunch at Tuco & Blondie and the Jimmy Buffett concert at Wrigley Field
One of the things I was most excited about for a trip to Maui in March was whale watching. By whales, I mean humpback whales. The humpback whale is a species of baleen whale. The adults range in length from 39-52 feet and weigh about 79,000 pounds (Wow! I didn't realize they were SO big … Continue reading Whale Watching in Hawaii
Two weeks ago, my mom, sister, niece and nephew came to Chicago to visit. I love when they come because we always have a fun time. This time was no exception. My trip to Florida ended with a visit to the mouse and his playground at Disney World. I had been to Walt Disney World one time before, when I was in elementary school. I didn't remember too much about it so I was excited when Amy and Roberta immediately said "yes" when I brought up … Continue reading A Day at Disney World Without Kids

I'm not much of a hiker and didn't want to do it alone. The tour I joined was great. While we have storm … Continue reading Visiting Volcano National Park in Hawaii
20. This is the number of days until I leave for Hawaii. I was there in 2013 for my 35th birthday and it quickly became my favorite of all the places I have visited so far. It is pretty much the best of everything - the sun, beaches and ocean of the Caribbean but it … Continue reading Countdown to Hawaii
Las Vegas...I want to like Las Vegas. I really, really do. I know many people who love it. There are cool hotels with amazing pools. Great shows. Lots of lights and things to see. Gambling. What's not to like, right? I went to Vegas for the first time several years ago with a friend for … Continue reading Las Vegas: What Happens There, Stays There (as long as it’s not me that stays)
This past week, I headed west to Denver to visit my good friends Crystal and Jess. I have been to Denver many times. Crystal has lived there for 12 years and I have visited her 5 or 6 times over that period. I have been to the mountains, many restaurants, the hot springs, etc. The … Continue reading A Weekend in Denver, Colorado
